A Word from the President of Student Advisory Board
Dear Students,
It is my privilege to serve as the inaugural President of the newly formed Student Advisory Board of the Maryland Association of Osteopathic Physicians (MAOP). As we launch this exciting new chapter, I’m proud to be part of a growing movement to elevate student voices and strengthen the presence of osteopathic medical students across Maryland.
This is a pivotal moment. With the creation of our Student Advisory Board and student member platform, MAOP is opening new pathways for student involvement, leadership, and collaboration. Our mission is to build a supportive, inclusive space where students can connect with mentors, gain early access to professional development opportunities, and help shape the future of osteopathic medicine in our state.

FAQs
- Who is eligible to join? All osteopathic medical students that are residents in Maryland are encouraged to participate.
- Does membership cost anything? Membership is free at this time.
- How can I apply for the Student Advisory Board? Applications open on June 1 and the board takes effect on January 1. Positions are available to residents interested in leadership.
- Do I have to be actively involved, or can I just be a member? You can engage at your own pace—attend events, apply for leadership, or simply enjoy the benefits.
